Governor's Task Force on Educational Excellence

Subcommittees

The Chair of the Governor's Task Force on Educational Excellence, Michael Spector, appointed subcommittees in November 2003 to research and make recommendations on several areas relating to the Governor's charge: academic achievement, early childhood education, special education, and teacher recruitment and retention. Each subcommittee had its own approach to its charge, including with respect to the expansiveness of its recommendations. The report formats and recommendations, which are detailed in the reports below, reflect those separate approaches.

Please note that, while these reports comprise the recommendations of each subcommittee to the members of the Task Force, they do not represent the final recommendations of the full Task Force. The full Task Force will review and discuss the acceptance or amendment (changes, additions, or deletions) of the recommendations, and will ultimately incorporate their decisions in the Task Force's final report.
